German-Austrian etcher and painter born in 1875 in Vienna and died in 1942 in Leipzig. Alois Kolb was Head of the Department of Etching at the Royal Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Trade Leipzig.

Primarily a graphic artist, known for fine bookplates in the 'Jugendstil' manner, also painted decorative
